The match at Sky Stadium will be hosted by Manu Samoa.

Their second fixture will be played as part of a double-header with the All Blacks as they host Tonga at Auckland’s Mount Smart Stadium on Saturday 3 July at 4:30pm in the Steinlager Series.

Māori All Blacks Head Coach Clayton McMillan is looking forward to the occasion, to play against their Pasifika brothers from Samoa.

“Representing the Māori All Blacks, particularly at home in front of our whānau and wider rugby community is a real honour. There is a strong legacy to uphold, and every player selected has an opportunity to leave their footprint on the whakapapa of the team.

“The upcoming series will be a massive challenge. We are well accustomed to the physicality, flair and passion our Samoan brothers play with and we fully respect that. Preparing for World Cup Qualifiers will be added incentive for them, so our own preparation needs to be thorough despite tight timeframes post Sky Super Rugby Trans-Tasman concluding.”

McMillan will name his Māori All Blacks squad to face Manu Samoa next week.
