Moana Pasifika stun the Hurricanes in Golden Point time

Moana Pasifika have made history with their first ever win in DHL Super Rugby Pacific.

On a special night at Mount Smart Stadium, Danny Toala scored a long range try in Golden Point time to secure an unforgettable 24-19 win over the Hurricanes.

The try sparked rapturous scenes among the covid-restricted crowd of 1000 and will ensure a bumper crowd for Moana Pasifika’s showdown against crosstown neighbours the Blues on Tuesday when full crowds will be allowed back at Mount Smart Stadium.

Moana Pasifika’s win was built on an unrelenting defensive display which held the Hurricanes to 7-7 at halftime despite suffering two yellow cards.
