The tongue-in-cheek comment quickly spread online with many speculating how the 31-year-old former Oakland Raiders punter would fare in rugby.
The official All Blacks account joined the conversation by offering the 2014 NFL punting yard leader an invitation to All Blacks training. The offer was endorsed by numerous users on Twitter with some secptical how King could dominate a completely new code while others speculated that his kicking ability would be ideal at either first five-eighth or fullback.
The All Blacks are no strangers to cross code collaboration and ideas sharing. Just last year, the All Blacks met NBA powerhouse the Houston Rockets in Tokyo and the idea of King attending All Blacks training to show off his kicking ability is one that had fans of both codes licking their lips.
