Chiefs Manawa and Matatū will still take the field in a pre-season fixture. The match will be played at Owen Delany Park, kicking off at 2.15pm.
Earlier this week, the official start of the inaugural competition was delayed by a few days due to all squads being impacted with players in isolation. Covid-19 cases and isolation in the Blues camp forced their withdrawal from this weekend’s matches.
The revised format will see the round robin fixtures played across three match-days, on Thursday 10 March, Tuesday 15 March, and Sunday 20 March, all at FMG Stadium Waikato. The winner will be crowned based on competition points.
