South Africa Rugby announced their nine home Test programme on Tuesday.

After hosting Wales for three Tests in the July window, the Springboks will play the All Blacks at Mbombela Stadium in Mbombela (formerly Nelspruit). A week later will play their second Championship Test at Ellis Park in Johannesburg.

It will be the first time the All Blacks have played a Test at Mbombela Stadium. They were to meet the Springboks there in 2020 before the onset of Covid-19 disrupted the Test season.

Three Tests have been played at the ground where South Africa is unbeaten.

Mbombela is in northeast South Africa and is a gateway to Kruger National Park.

Springbok coach Jacques Nienaber said he was excited about the side's schedule.

"It's a massive honour to represent our country, and the fact that we will be facing such tough competition this season has sparked excitement among the coaches and players alike.

"We are well underway with our planning for the year, and our knowledge of these teams after facing them all last season will be vital as we forge ahead in this regard in the next few months," he said.

"Wales, the All Blacks and Australia tested us well last season, and Argentina have proven to be a force to be reckoned with, both at home and away. Although we are expecting a challenging season, we realise the importance of laying a solid foundation as we build up toward next year's Rugby World Cup."
