The Black Ferns and Auckland lock has been with fellow teammates Charmaine McMenamin and Ruahei Demant in Cardiff as they prepare to play for the Barbarians against the Wales women’s side this weekend. Also included in the Barbarians squad is Canterbury skipper Steph Te Ohaere-Fox and Auckland Sevens player Tess Gard’ner.

Kat Whata-Simpkins

The Black Ferns Sevens side celebrated Christmas a little early in the Mount. Kat Whata-Simpkins and her fellow teammates had their end of year Christmas party this week ahead of their departure to Dubai for their second leg of the HSBC World Sevens Series.

Ruby Tui

Ruby Tui nailed the matching outfits with teammates Risi Pouri-Lane and Rhiarna Ferris at the Christmas party.

Jazz Hotham

Fellow Black Ferns Sevens team member Jazz Hotham took part in last week’s Red Bull Ignite7 in West Auckland, where her Inferno side went onto win the tournament. She joined tournament MVP Isla Norman-Bell and Rina Paraone for a pic on Saturday.

Red Bull Ignite7

We love this video of all the Ignite7 players joining in for a haka last week. Spin tingling stuff.

Grace Kukutai

Former Northern Mystics netball player Grace Kukutai made an impression at Ignite7, joining Isla Norman-Bell and Renee Holmes as the female MVP’s. They’ll take part in a Black Ferns Sevens development camp next year. Kukutai took to Instagram to thank her family and friends for their support.

Alana Bremner

The Black Ferns Development XV side took out the Oceania tournament in Fiji yesterday, after winning all three of their games. Alana Bremner posed for a photo with teammates Grace Brooker and Eilis Doyle after yesterday’s match against Papua New Guinea.

Martha Lolohea

Fellow Black Ferns Development player Martha Lolohea got a snap with Saphire Abraham and Amanda Rasch after their final captain’s run of the tournament in Lautoka.

Les Elder

How amazing is our Black Ferns skipper looking! Les Elder announced she was pregnant earlier this month, and she was glowing at the Bay of Plenty Sports Awards over the weekend. Congratulations Les, to you and your family.

Portia Woodman

Unfortunately, the Black Ferns Sevens won’t have the services of Portia Woodman (or Michaela Blyde and Sarah Hirini) at the Dubai and Cape Town legs of the HSBC World Sevens Series, as Woodman has a hamstring injury. But she spent some of her recovery time at the Weetbix triathlon in Mount Maunganui over the weekend, alongside Niall Williams, Hirini and Silver Fern Casey Kopua.
