BIOGRAPHY

HAZEL TUBIC is a versatile, experienced, accomplished performer who has given sterling service to both the Black Ferns and Black Ferns Sevens over periods of the last decade.

Originally out of Te Kauwhata College, Tubic plays club rugby for Manurewa and is the leading points scorer in Counties Manukau Heat history.

Tubic is multi-skilled and can kick goals, as well as being blessed with the ability to play several positions from No 10 out.

She has 15 tournament caps for the Black Ferns Sevens to her name from 2012-16, including the victorious Rugby World Cup Sevens in 2013.

In 15s, she debuted for the Black Ferns back in 2011 out of Auckland, and has 11 Test caps, the last of which came in the 2017 Rugby World Cup match against Hong Kong, when she played fullback.

Now fully immersed back in 15s, Tubic scored 22 points, including two tries, in three games for the 2019 NZ Development XV in Fiji. She holds several Heat scoring records, and is eighth on the list of all-time scorers in New Zealand women’s first-class rugby.
