Born in the Counties Manukau region, Waiuku's Josh Hohneck made his Māori All Blacks debut back in 2015.
He was part of the impressive Highlanders side that lifted the Super Rugby trophy for the first time in 2015, having begun his career with Waikato in provincial rugby.
He also played for Bay of Plenty and the Chiefs, before making the move to the northern hemisphere to play for Gloucester in the English Premiership.
Hohneck signed in 2016 and made 101 appearances for Gloucester.
He moved back to New Zealand in 2020 with the Premiership taking a break due to Covid-19. Hohneck signed with Otago in the Mitre 10 Cup and later gained a Super Rugby contract with the Highlanders for the 2021 Super Rugby season.
In 2020, five years after making his Māori All Blacks debut, Hohneck donned the black jersey again, this time against Moana Pasifika at FMG Stadium Waikato.
