Niko Jones, son of Sir Michael, burst onto the national rugby scene in 2018 when he led his St Peters 1st XV to a national title. Jones' eye-catching performances in the Top Four competition resulted in his inclusion in the 2019 All Blacks Sevens squad. A foot injury playing for the All Blacks Sevens Development thwarted Jones' chances of an international debut in 2019.
