Captains Run 4th of July
We’re thrilled to be welcoming many of you to the Captains Run on Friday the 4th of July at Forsyth Barr Stadium.
Here are the key details for Friday afternoon’s event.
- You’re asked to join us at Forsyth Barr Stadium, Gate J at 1.45pm. When you arrive, please look out for the Black Jersey Pass Sign, and make your way towards it. We will check you in and then you will then be escorted to the VIP lounge.
- At 2.00pm All Blacks legend will connect with the group in the lounge. He will talk about his own journey as an All Black, offer you some insights in to camp life on a Test week and other unique All Blacks insights.
- At 2.25pm you will be escorted down to reserved seating for Captains Run.
- At 2.30pm The All Blacks will take to the field for their Captains Run.
- At the conclusion of their training, approx. 3.30pm the All Blacks will participate in signings and photos with the Captains Run attendees.
- The event will be complete by 4.00pm
Things To Note
- The Gates will close at 2.20pm and there will be no entry after this time.
- Having trouble finding the Gate J, use this map Here
- Filming and photography is not allowed during the Captains Run, this will be monitored.
- You are very welcome to take photos of your favourites and get ready for selfies once the training has concluded. Our event MC will inform you when you can pull those phones out.
Where is Forsyth Barr Stadium?
Forsyth Barr Stadium is located on 130 Anzac Avenue, Dunedin, an easy 20 minute walk from the Octagon and Dunedin's CBD. For many, the walk from the Octagon to the Stadium with stops at various points of interest will enhance the match day experience. Get Directions
How Do I Get There?
- Walk- Easy 20-minute walk from the Octagon
- Bus -There are normal timetabled bus services from the city centre to the Albany/Fourth Street area. Check Timetables Here.
- Driving - Limited car parking is available in the immediate area surrounding the Stadium. On event day, access to the Stadium east end carpark is only for Forsyth Barr Stadium Members with parking permits. Traffic will be extremely heavy, so the closer you park to the Stadium, the longer it will take you to leave the area after the event. There is a walkway linking the wharf area from Wickliffe Street near the corner of Fryatt Street to Forsyth Barr Stadium. There is free car parking all around this harbour area.
- Uber/ Taxi - Dunedin’s taxi and Ubers will be very busy during events, so we recommend you pre-book for both legs of the journey. The taxi and Uber pick-up and drop off area is located outside of Gate D
Match Day 5th of July
It’s match day! All Blacks vs France kicks off at 7:05PM at Forsyth Barr Stadium When you arrive, Black Jersey Pass staff will be positioned at the top of your seating aisle to help guide you to your seat.
