But they will go into that game without first five-eighths Beauden Barrett who has a shoulder injury and prop Ethan de Groot who suffered a concussion during Saturday's Eden Park 33-24 win over Australia.

Coach Scott Robertson was relieved the All Blacks avoided the second-half woes that have often frustrated them this year.

"It was nice, we weathered a bit. We changed a few pressure cycles. Instead of putting pressure on ourselves, we put it back on them and won a couple of big moments.

"There was great impact from the guys off the bench."

He said returning halfback Cam Roigard's performance was a significant shift for the 75 minutes he played. It wasn't intended that he should play so long, but injuries to Beauden Barrett and Caleb Clarke in the first half meant they had no reserves to go in early with.

"He's a quality athlete, and a quality rugby player as well."

There was a noticeable improvement in the effort to contest balls in the air, and the All Blacks were able to secure some critical turnovers.

"There was a genuine contest and we got up and won a few of those, which is so critical."

Consistency is now what the All Blacks seek.

"It's a great opportunity to get to Perth, and a hell of a ground, and the story continues. It's going to go right down to the last round for who wins the Championships."

Captain and flanker Ardie Savea said they wanted to put in a performance that restored some mana to the jersey.

"That started on Sunday when we came back in as a team. We started well in this game, and it's a credit to the Aussies, who we knew were a great team at coming back. They hit the moment towards the end of the first half.

"But that's a Test match. It's a Test match of moments and we were able to compound a few more moments in the second half and build points. The challenge now is embracing the win and getting back on the horse and trying to go back to back."

When the Australians were within touching distance in the final quarter, Savea said his message was about building on the good moments, and we did that.

"We can be better around when we do get a good lead and be ruthless. That's on us."
