Australia beat Fiji with a last-gasp try to win 20-17 and continue its recent dominance of the World Series and ended Fiji's sequence of six consecutive wins in Hong Kong.

France beat Samoa 19-17 to take third place.

Having missed the playoffs for the first time in the competition, the All Blacks Sevens needed three wins on the final day to salvage their weekend.

They achieved that and claimed eight points to sit ninth on the series ladder.

They started with a 43-0 win over Kenya and followed with a 24-7 win over Spain before finishing with their success over Canada.

Against Kenya, Dylan Collier scored a hat-trick of tries with Moses Leo, Sam Dickson, Sione Molia and Kurt Baker each crossing.

In the Spanish game, Collier opened with the first try to be followed by Leroy Carter, Molia and Brady Rush.

In the Cup game, New Zealand scored three tries before Canada responded. Tone Ng Shiu scored in the second and eighth minutes, while Carter scored in the fifth.

After Matt Oworu scored for Canada, New Zealand responded with Akuila Rokolisoa and Ngarohi McGarvey-Black crossing for tries.

Hong Kong hosted the tournament for the first time since 2019. The next round, of the 11 to be played this season that culminates with Olympic qualifying, will be played on December 2-3 in Dubai.
