Fehi Fineanganofo re-signs with New Zealand Rugby to the end of 2027
The 24-year-old outside back’s re-commitment comes after Newcastle Red Bulls agreed for Fehi Fineanganofo to remain in New Zealand for another season.
He will join Newcastle Red Bulls on newly-extended terms from 2027 to 2029 following several months of positive and collaborative discussions with between NZR, Newcastle and Fineanganofo around his desire to give himself the best chance to play at the Rugby World Cup 2027.
Fineanganofo said he was grateful to Newcastle and New Zealand Rugby for the opportunity to continue his rugby in New Zealand in 2027.

NZR General Manager Professional Rugby Relationships Simon Simmers said:
“We are pleased to have reached a positive resolution for Fehi and look forward to seeing him continue playing his rugby in New Zealand through 2027 and chasing his dream of playing at a Rugby World Cup.”

“It’s great news for the Hurricanes that Fehi will be in New Zealand for another season. The opportunity for him to play for us in 2027 is something we’re really excited about. He has obviously had an amazing season in 2026 by winning Super Rugby Pacific, breaking the try-scoring record, and being selected for the All Blacks.
“It’s been a hugely successful year and he can be super proud of his achievements, so we look forward to that continuing next season and seeing him in pre-season once we get back together.”
