Playing for both sides
Two
If he takes the field on Saturday, former All Black Aidan Ross will become the first player of the professional era to play Test rugby both for and against New Zealand. The last to do it was 1981 All Black Jamie Salmon, who played for England against New Zealand in 1985. Ross would also be the second former All Black to face New Zealand this year, after Ma'a Nonu played for the Sharks in an uncapped tour match. Ross is one of only five men to have played Test rugby for both New Zealand and Australia, alongside Ted Jessep, Des Connor, Owen Stephens and Alex Hodgman.
1958 and 1962
Des Connor, now 91 and the second oldest living All Black, played for the Wallabies against New Zealand in 1958, then for the All Blacks in Australia in 1962.
1931 and 1934
Connor was only the second player to appear for both sides in Bledisloe Cup contests. Front-rower Evan (Ted) Jessep played for New Zealand in the inaugural contest in 1931, then for the victorious Australian side in 1934. He was part of both the first New Zealand team and the first Australian team to win the Bledisloe Cup.
