Ruben Love ruled out for the rest of 2026
The injury, sustained in South Africa, means Ruben Love will miss both Bledisloe Cup Tests against Australia and the end-of-year Nations Championship Tests in Europe.
Love has had a breakout 2026. He steered the Hurricanes to their first Super Rugby Pacific title in a decade, then started the first six tests of the year in the No 10 jersey: three at home against France, Italy and Ireland, and the first three tests of Rugby's Greatest Rivalry series against the Springboks.
All Blacks Head Coach Dave Rennie said Love had been managing the ankle for much of the season.
"He sort of nursed it a little bit through Super Rugby. He's tough, Ruben."
Love was not named in the 34-player squad for the Bledisloe Cup, with Richie Mo'unga and Josh Jacomb selected as the specialist first five-eighths. Beauden Barrett and Damian McKenzie provide further cover.
The All Blacks open the Bledisloe Cup series against the Wallabies this Saturday at Eden Park. Limited tickets are available HERE.

Savea confirms Blues move
All Blacks captain Ardie Savea has signed a one-year deal with the Blues for the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific season. Savea had been due to return to Moana Pasifika before the club's exit from the competition, which moves to a 10-team format next year.
The Blues will be his third Super Rugby club after the Hurricanes and Moana Pasifika. Savea is currently recovering from the shoulder injury he sustained in South Africa.
Tupou Ta'eiloa joins the Hurricanes
All Blacks No 8 Semisi Tupou Ta'eiloa has signed a two-year deal with the Hurricanes, covering the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
The 22-year-old joins from Moana Pasifika, where he led Super Rugby Pacific for carries (205) in 2025. In August he became the first Moana Pasifika player to debut for the All Blacks, on tour in South Africa.
