The Black Ferns and Japan have met only once before, in a 2022 Test at Eden Park.

That historic Rugby World Cup warm-up clash can now be watched in full on the new Black Ferns YouTube channel, offering fans the chance to revisit the contest ahead of their Rugby World Cup Pool C meeting in Exeter on Monday 1 September at 1.00am NZT.

The Black Ferns come into the match after opening their campaign with a 54–8 win over Spain, while Japan showed plenty of endeavour in their 42–14 loss to Ireland. Both teams will be eager to build on those performances as they continue their push through pool play.

With a relatively fresh history between the two nations, Monday’s fixture promises to be another important chapter in their growing rivalry.
