From 2026 to 2030 the All Blacks revamped Test schedule will include the proposed Nations Championship, reciprocal tours with South Africa, three Lipovitan-D Rugby Championships, the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia, and the hosting of a British and Irish Lions Tour in 2029.
New Zealand Rugby (NZR) Head of Tournaments & Competitions Cameron Good said:

“It’s an action packed schedule that provides competitive and varied Test rugby between the top rugby nations in the world, while maintaining SANZAAR’s intense rivalries including the Bledisloe Cup, Rugby Championship, and traditional tours. We look forward to taking on these new challenges in what will be an exciting period for fans and players.”

The Nations Championship, proposed for 2026, 2028 and 2030 to include 12 teams across two rounds of fixtures, has been designed to transform the July and November Test windows into a competitive tournament format. The All Blacks reciprocal tours with South Africa will take place in 2026 and 2030.

The calendar will also see a full Lipovitan-D Rugby Championship tournament delivered in a Rugby World Cup year for the first time, allowing SANZAAR nations an excellent preparation and run-in to the 2027 tournament in Australia.

SANZAAR CEO Brendan Morris commented, “Looking ahead, our joint-venture is committed to driving the next chapter of southern hemisphere rugby. By collaborating closely with our Unions and valued partners, we've developed a dynamic and innovative calendar designed to deliver thrilling rugby experiences and set new benchmarks for the game in the years to come.”

“This new calendar is all about bringing fans closer to the heart of the action. After listening to what supporters, broadcasters and partners want, we’ve worked with the Unions to craft a bold and innovative schedule designed to deliver unforgettable moments every year.”

Further information and detailed schedules will be announced by SANZAAR and the respective National Unions in the coming days and weeks as plans are finalised.
