Mid Canterbury have turned the tables on Thames Valley, avenging last year’s Meads Cup final with a thrilling victory in Ashburton to claim the top prize in the Bunnings Warehouse Heartland Championship.

Mid Canterbury went unbeaten throughout the regular season, winning eight from eight before taking out Wairarapa Bush 21-19 in the semifinal last weekend to maintain their perfect season.
