Roigard Runs Riot: Hurricanes Halfback Tops Fantasy Round 14

Cam Roigard delivered a masterclass in Round 14 to claim Fantasy Player of the Week honours with a sizzling 86-point performance in the Hurricanes’ win over the Highlanders at Sky Stadium.

The livewire halfback was unstoppable, bagging two tries and racking up numerous linebreaks and defenders beaten in a dynamic open-field display that had fantasy coaches grinning.

Right behind him was Hurricanes teammate Ardie Savea, whose all-action performance earned him 78 points, making him the top forward and second overall for the round. Savea’s stats were outrageous — 19 carries, 8 defenders beaten, and four offloads — as he delivered one of the most complete efforts of the season.

Rounding out the top three was a Fantasy debutant — Jonny McNicholl — who made an immediate impact in his first game of the season. The Crusaders flyer racked up 74 points, with just 1% of fantasy coaches backing him. Those lucky few will be climbing their mini-league ladders thanks to his late-season surge.

In the overall standings, Brumbies winger Corey Toole stays on top with 577 points, despite a modest 25-point return against the Reds. Roigard is now breathing down his neck with 545, while Damian McKenzie holds third on 532.

Among the forwards, Savea (511) has leapfrogged the injured Carlo Tizzano (490) to claim top spot, with Moana Pasifika’s Miracle Faililagi third on 470.

With the finals just around the corner and Roigard and Savea in red-hot form, fantasy coaches will be weighing their next moves carefully.
