Billy Proctor is a dynamic centre for the All Blacks, known for his strong defensive presence and attacking flair. Born in Wellington and of Ngāi Te Rangi and Ngāpuhi descent, Proctor began his professional rugby career with Wellington in 2017 and joined the Hurricanes in 2019.
He made his Māori All Blacks debut in 2020 and represented the All Blacks XV in 2023. Proctor earned his first All Blacks cap in July 2024, against Fiji in San Diego.
In 2025, Proctor has continued to stake a claim on the All Blacks' 13 jersey, featuring in two of the three tests against France in the Lipovitan-D July Series and five of six matches in the Rugby Championship.
Rugby talent and success run in the Proctor family, with his older brother Matt becoming All Black #1177 in 2018. Their father Phil was a New Zealand junior representative and played tighthead prop for Wellington.
