BIOGRAPHY
From a berth in the Black Ferns’ wider training squad in 2017 to a full contract in 2018, Joanah Ngan-Woo enjoyed a meteoric rise up the ranks.
The Wellington Pride lock took up the game in Year 9 at St Catherine’s College, and by the age of 16 had linked up with the Oriental Rongotai club, from where she has played over 40 times for the Pride since 2013.
Ngan-Woo has struck up a useful second-row combination for the Pride with Sanita Levave. She made her Black Ferns debut in 2019 against USA in the Super Series in San Diego.
Away from rugby Ngan-Woo has completed a Bachelor of Arts in social policy and education at Victoria University. She was a member of the Black Ferns victorious Rugby World Cup 2021 squad.
