BIOGRAPHY

Marcel Renata was a late addition to the Māori All Blacks squad in 2015, called up to face the New Zealand Barbarians at Eden Park and the Ngāti Whānaunga prop joined the fray from the bench.  

He was then selected by then Head Coach Colin Cooper for the 2016 Northern Tour, on which he played in all three matches. In 2017 Renata was selected for the New Zealand Provincial Barbarians side to face the British and Irish Lions.  

He went on to be called into the 2018 Hurricanes squad, making two appearances before heading home to Auckland and joining the Blues for their 2019 season and debuting against the Sunwolves 

Now an established member of the Blues front row as well as a senior figure in the Māori All Blacks set up.
