The impressive prop forward made her Black Ferns debut in 2022 off the bench in Adelaide against Australia as a teenager.

Out of the Rangiuru Rugby Club and Te Puke High School, Taumata had a breakthrough 2022 season for the Chiefs Manawa in Super Rugby Aupiki and Bay of Plenty in the Farah Palmer Cup.

Taumata joined Matatū ahead of the 2026 Super Rugby Aupiki season.
