What is NZR+?

NZR+ is a FREE digital streaming service giving fans access to rugby content via a free New Zealand Rugby Fan Account. NZR+ is available 24/7, 365-days a year and features behind the scenes, exclusive, and original content that can’t be found anywhere else.

What live games can I watch on NZR+?

Selected matches will be shown live on NZR+ in certain countries. Please ensure you are signed up to receive e-mails from us so that we can let you know about these games.

What countries is NZR+ available?

All countries except for: North Korea, Sudan, Cuba, Syria and Iran.

How do I submit a complaint about content on NZR+?

If you are concerned about the content on NZR+, please let us know using this email address: [email protected]. We take our obligations to our audiences seriously. If you can confirm the specific content, when you saw or heard it, what your specific concern is, and how you would like us to address that concern. Also please include your name and contact details so that we can let you know our response.

What do I do if I am not satisfied with the outcome of my content complaint?

NZR+ is a member of the NZ Media Council. If you are not happy with our response to a content complaint, or if you haven’t received a response within 10 days, you can use the Media Council’s complaint procedures. You can find more detail on the NZ Media Council website. You will need to attach details of the content you complained about (if possible please include a link) and all correspondence between you and New Zealand Rugby.

You can sign up for an account by clicking on this link. When you sign up, you can sign up with your Facebook or Google account. Alternatively, you can also use your email address to sign up.

How do I update my account details?

You can update your account details in your profile here. You will need to be logged in to update your profile. 

How do I update my team and contact preferences?

You can update your teams and contact preferences here, and then click on 'Teams & Contact Preferences'. You will need to be logged in to update your team and contact preferences.

How do I update my password?

If you have forgotten your password, you can reset your password by clicking on the 'Don't remember your password?' link here. Or if you are logged in, you can update your password here.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account here, click on 'Teams & Contact Preferences' and following the instructions. You will need to be logged in to delete your account.


 

How To Watch NZR+

On Which Devices Can I Watch NZR+?

NZR+ is available on the following devices:

Desktop: PC and Mac – the website is available on all modern desktop browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge

Mobile Devices: Available on iOS and Android smart phones and tablets

Streaming Devices: Content can be streamed to any smart TV using Airplay on Apple TV, and via Google Chromecast.

Smart TVs:

  • Samsung Smart TV – 2019 models onwards (Tizen 4.0). Search ‘NZR’ in Apps and select DOWNLOAD.
  • LG TV Smart TV – 2018 models onwards (WebOSTV 4.0). Search for 'NZR', then choose INSTALL.
  • Android TV - Smart TVs running Android TV as the operating system. (Android TV 5.0+ - Lollipop). Search for ‘NZR’ in the Store and tap Install.

With all phones, tablets, browsers and Smart TVs we suggest that you keep these up to date with the latest version the operating system for the device and the most recent version of the NZR+ App to ensure the best experience.

Can I Watch Multiple Devices at Once?

No, your NZR+ membership allows you to watch video content on one device at a time. You can have multiple login sessions open simultaneously, but will not be able to watch multiple videos at the same time.

If you receive the following message, ‘You are currently watching a video on another device’, you will need to close your previous session and refresh your device/browser to begin watching content on a separate device.

Troubleshooting: Network Connectivity

One of the most common issues seen by NZR+ users is that of weak an interrupted internet connectivity within their home Wi-Fi Networks. If you see constant buffering or loading circles or frequent changes in the quality of your streams, try these troubleshooting steps:

  • Restart your browser, device and home Wi-Fi Network
    • Close the browser that had NZR+ open / the NZR+ App
    • Shut down your device
    • Unplug your Wi-Fi router/modem from power for 1-2 minutes
    • Plug your Wi-Fi router/modem back into power
    • Restart device, open NZR+ app / in browser
  • Improve your Wi-Fi Signal
    • Move to a more central location / closer to your device
    • Move Wi-Fi router away from other wireless devices (microwaves) to avoid
    • Move router off the floor
  • Connect your computer directly to the modem
    • Close the browser that had NZR+ open
    • Shut down your computer
    • Unplug your modem from power for 1-2 minutes
    • Plug your modem back into power
    • Turn computer on, plug computer into modem via ethernet cable
    • Open NZR+ in browser

If none of the above work, and you continue to have the same issues, please consider contacting your Internet Service Provider.

Troubleshooting: Desktop Browser Issues

When trying to access a NZR+ program, if you are seeing a continuous loading circle or connection error within the video player, this may be resolved by signing out of NZR+, clearing your web browser’s cache, and relaunching the browser.

Troubleshooting: iPhone/iPad

For any issues on the iOS app please try to reinstall the app from your mobile device:

  • Remove the app from your device
  • Power cycle your device (Turn your device off and then on again)
  • Reinstall the app on your device

If you continue to have trouble, install any available updates for your iOS. If these suggestions do not resolve the issues you are encountering please try accessing the app through a different network or Wi-Fi connection to see if the same issues occur.

Troubleshooting: Android

For any issues on the Android app please try to reinstall the app from your mobile device:

  • Remove the app from your device
  • Power cycle your device
  • Reinstall the app on your device
