1. Will Jordan – 51 tries

A try-scoring phenomenon, Jordan climbed to the top of the standings in 2026 after passing Doug Howlett’s long-standing record. Equally dangerous from fullback or the wing, his speed, support play and ability to appear in the right place have made him one of the most prolific finishers in Test history.

2. Doug Howlett – 49 tries

Howlett held the All Blacks record for almost 19 years after scoring 49 tries in 62 Tests between 2000 and 2007. The electric winger combined genuine pace with exceptional anticipation and rarely needed a second invitation to find the try line.

3. Christian Cullen – 46 tries

Few players have produced a highlights reel quite like the Paekākāriki Express. Cullen scored 46 tries in 58 Tests, regularly slicing through defences with his pace, balance and devastating running from the back.

4. Joe Rokocoko – 46 tries

Rokocoko made an extraordinary start to his international career, scoring 17 tries during his debut season in 2003. Powerful, elusive and lethal in space, he finished with 46 tries from 68 Tests.

5. Julian Savea – 46 tries

Nicknamed “The Bus”, Savea was one of the most destructive wings in world rugby at his peak. His combination of size, speed and finishing power helped him score 46 tries in just 54 Tests.

6. Beauden Barrett – 46 tries

A two-time World Rugby Player of the Year, Barrett has scored tries from first five-eighth, fullback and off the bench. His acceleration, support running and ability to exploit the smallest gap have taken him into elite company.

7. Jeff Wilson – 44 tries

One of New Zealand’s finest dual internationals, Wilson scored 44 tries in 60 Tests for the All Blacks. A polished finisher with speed, footwork and excellent game awareness, he was a constant attacking threat throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. Wilson also played for the New Zealand cricket team in 1992 and 2005.

8. Ben Smith – 39 tries

Smith’s timing and consistency made him one of the world’s best outside backs. Whether playing on the wing, at centre or from fullback, his speed, running lines and composure helped produce 39 Test tries.

9. Rieko Ioane – 39 tries

10. Jonah Lomu – 37 tries
