The Black Ferns will take on the Wallaroos in an O’Reilly Cup Test at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday 25 April 2027, forming a historic trans-Tasman rugby double-header with the first-ever Anzac Day Bledisloe Cup Test between the All Blacks and Wallabies.
Anzac Day double-header at Suncorp Stadium
The best female players from New Zealand and Australia will join the All Blacks and Wallabies in Brisbane for the one-day, four-team event. The Wallaroos and Black Ferns will take the field after the Bledisloe Cup match.
Tickets for the Wallabies’ 2027 campaign go on sale at 12pm AEDT (2pm NZDT) tomorrow, 29 October.
First Anzac Day Bledisloe Cup Test
As announced in June, the All Blacks and Wallabies will write a new chapter in their 123-year rivalry when they play on Anzac Day for the first time.
Black Ferns v Wallaroos: the O’Reilly Cup rivalry continues
The Black Ferns and Wallaroos contested an O’Reilly Cup Test on Anzac Day this year on the Sunshine Coast, they will continue that rivalry in 2027 at Suncorp Stadium.
Queensland Government backs the Brisbane fixture
Queensland Minister for the Environment and Tourism Andrew Powell said adding the Wallaroos and Black Ferns would make an already significant sporting occasion even bigger.
“Four teams, two great trans-Tasman rivalries and one huge day of rugby at Suncorp Stadium - on a day that marks the close friendship of Australia and New Zealand,” Minister Powell said.
“It will be a moving and memorable day for many reasons and is another great addition to Queensland’s world-class events calendar.”
Queensland Minister for Sport and Racing Tim Mander said the addition would elevate the inaugural Anzac Day Bledisloe Cup into an even bigger celebration of international rugby.
“The Wallabies and All Blacks on ANZAC Day was already set to be a landmark occasion, and now fans will also get to see the Wallaroos and Black Ferns go head-to-head in a blockbuster double-header,” Minister Mander said.
“This is exactly the kind of world-class sporting event that will help build momentum on the runway to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
Brisbane welcomes fans from both sides of the Tasman
Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said: “Anzac Day is one of the most important days for Australians and New Zealanders as we come together to honour those who served and sacrificed.
“Other cities have their Anzac Day sporting traditions, but Brisbane’s historic trans-Tasman rugby double-header will uniquely reflect the bond at the heart of the Anzac spirit.
“We look forward to welcoming supporters from both sides of the Tasman for a weekend they will never forget in Australia’s lifestyle capital.”
