Demant ruled out as Black Ferns prepare for France Test

Black Ferns co-captain and first five-eighth Ruahei Demant has been ruled out of the remainder of the away WXV Global Series after sustaining a calf injury during last Saturday’s Test against South Africa.

Demant will be unavailable for this weekend’s clash with France, with a timeframe for her return to play yet to be determined.

An update on her replacement in the Black Ferns squad will be provided in the coming days.

Experienced hooker and co-captain Georgia Ponsonby will take over the captaincy duties for the remainder of the away series as the Black Ferns turn their attention to their next challenge against France.
