The 34-year-old winger reached the milestone in just her 30th Test, moving past former All Black Doug Howlett, who scored 49 tries in 62 appearances. Woodman-Wickliffe’s five-try haul in the match not only secured the record but also underlined her enduring finishing ability more than a decade after making her Black Ferns debut.

She was quick to highlight the role of her teammates in the achievement. “I’m just on the end of the work that the rest of the team puts in,” she said. “The tries come from what we create together.”

Woodman-Wickliffe first broke the Black Ferns’ individual record earlier this year when she overtook Vanessa Cootes’ tally of 43. Her return to international rugby in 2025 has added another chapter to a career that already includes Rugby World Cup titles in both sevens and XVs.

With her 50th try, she now stands alone at the top of New Zealand’s Test try-scoring charts.
