The four-time Super Rugby winner with the Crusaders has completed three seasons with Montpellier, playing 48 games between 2022-25 and scoring 11 tries.

Bridge, 30, made 82 appearances for the Crusaders and played 19 Tests while scoring 12 tries.

Bridge, a wing/fullback utility, was a New Zealand Under-20s player who also played 43 times for Canterbury, said he was excited to join the Perth-based Force, where he will replace Harry Potter, who has signed with the Waratahs.

"They're a club heading in the right direction and I'm keen to take on the new challenge and contribute to the club's success.

"I've always loved my time in Perth, and with friends and good connections among the staff and players, it felt like the right fit."

Force coach Simon Cron said, "George is well known to a number of our staff and they can't speak highly enough of his professionalism, approach to the game and his rugby knowledge.

"He's got a massive left foot kick. He can play multiple positions. He's a brilliant player. An amazing talent. He'll add to the guys that we have in the squad.

"We know when we have injuries, it's important to have depth so we can progress deep into Super Rugby finals.

"He's got a huge amount to give. He's been playing at Montpellier at Top 14 level. I know a few New Zealand franchises were chasing him hard, but he wanted to join the Force.

"George and his family were keen to come here and make Perth their chosen home, which is what we're all about. He'll add a lot to our environment."

Meanwhile, lock Hugo Plummer, 24, has renewed his contract with the Hurricanes until the end of 2027.

He will join Japan Test player Warner Dearns, Isaia Walker-Leawere, Caleb Delany and newcomer Tom Allen in competing for places in the Hurricanes' middle row.

Plummer, who has completed a law degree, debuted for the Hurricanes in 2023 and has made eight appearances for the side. He has shared in two Bunnings Cup competition wins with Wellington.

Hurricanes coach Clark Laidlaw said, "There's a heap of growth still to come in his rugby, but he's somebody we think, with his energy and work rate around the field, can complement the rest of the back five in the forward pack."
