The impressive prop forward made her Black Ferns debut off the bench in Adelaide against Australia as a teenager.
Out of the Rangiuru Rugby Club and Te Puke High School, Taumata had a breakthrough 2022 season for the Chiefs Manawa in Sky Super Rugby Aupiki and Bay of Plenty in the Farah Palmer Cup.
Unfortunately, a knee injury side-lined the young prop for her 2023 season.
