Chay Fihaki

Auckland-born back Chay Fihaki (born 3 January 2001) joins the All Blacks squad as an injury replacement for the Bledisloe Cup Tests.

A former Sacred Heart College First XV player, Fihaki joined the Crusaders Academy in 2019 and represented New Zealand U20 that year. He made his Canterbury debut in 2020, earning First Year Player of the Year honours, and debuted for the Crusaders in 2021. Equally at home at fullback, on the wing or in the midfield, Fihaki came of age in 2024, starting 12 of his 14 Super Rugby Pacific appearances. He then started at fullback for the Barbarians against Fiji at Twickenham, kicking four conversions in a 45-32 win. He was selected for the All Blacks XV Northern Tour in 2025 starting at fullback against England A.

Fihaki first joined an All Blacks camp as injury cover in September 2024, when Jordie Barrett was ruled out. In March 2026 he re-signed with the Crusaders through to 2028 after reaching 50 appearances for the club.
