All Black #1183

A product of Cambridge High School, Luke Jacobson first played alongside his older brother Mitch before both represented Waikato and the Chiefs, with eldest brother Kane featuring for North Harbour.

Jacobson’s leadership qualities were evident early, making the New Zealand Schools team in 2014, captaining Waikato at the 2016 Jock Hobbs Memorial Under-19 Tournament (earning Player of the Tournament honours), and leading the New Zealand Under-20s to a World Championship title in Georgia in 2017.

He debuted for Waikato later that year and made his Super Rugby debut for the Chiefs in 2018, quickly becoming known for his powerful carries, relentless defence, and work ethic. Jacobson captained Waikato in the 2018 National Provincial Championship and made his All Blacks debut against Argentina in Buenos Aires in 2019.

After missing the 2020 international season through injury, he returned to the national side in 2021 and has since developed into a key figure in the All Blacks loose forward mix, valued for his versatility, leadership, and uncompromising physicality.
