All Blacks Sevens #288

Ngarohi McGarvey-Black made his All Blacks Sevens debut in Las Vegas in 2018 after catching the attention of national selectors playing for Bay of Plenty at the regional sevens in 2017. A versatile backline player with a quick turn of pace and good eye for the game, he was named Player of the Final in Cape Town 2019 and Hamilton 2020. He was part of the side that won silver at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, the squad that won bronze at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and competed at the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town, where he won silver.

A dangerous outside back with elite pace, McGarvey-Black brings evasiveness, support play and strong finishing ability to the All Blacks Sevens environment. His ability to consistently break tackles and create opportunities in open space makes him one of the side’s biggest attacking weapons.
