Quinn Tupaea is a dynamic centre known for his powerful running and skillful ball handling. After captaining New Zealand Schools, he debuted for Waikato in 2018 and made the 2019 New Zealand Under-20 squad. He debuted for the Chiefs in the 2020 Super Rugby season, earning Chiefs Rookie of the Year honours. His impressive performances led to selection for the Māori All Blacks and the All Blacks XV.
Tupaea made his All Blacks debut in 2021 against Tonga. However, a severe knee injury in 2022 resulted in an extended period on the sideline.
He returned to the All Blacks squad in 2025, featuring in all but two of the Lipovitan-D July Series and Rugby Championship Tests, including a standout performance in the finale against Australia in Perth, scoring two tries and providing two assists in a 28–14 victory.
