Holly-Rae Mete hails from Whanganui and joined Matatū in Sky Super Rugby Aupiki after a standout 2024 campaign with Hurricanes Poua. Mete began her career with Manawatū in 2021 and quickly established herself as a key player, scoring six tries in 16 appearances over three seasons.

In 2024, she was awarded the the Fiao’o Fa’amausili Medal as Farah Palmer Cup Player of the Year after dominating the season with top stats in metres gained, defenders beaten and offloads. Known for her ball-carrying ability and speed Mete is making a name for herself as a Black Ferns rising star.
