Kelsey Teneti made her FPC debut for Waikato while still in Year 12 at Hamilton Girls' High School in 2020. The following year she was selected to play in the first-ever women's Super Rugby Aupiki game for the Chiefs against the Blues. She was contracted to the Black Ferns Sevens in 2022, the same year she made her Black Ferns debut, playing all three matches in the PAC4 Series.

Teneti has emerged as one of the SVNS Series' most dangerous finishers, named the Player of the Final at the New York regular season finale, scoring twice in a thrilling comeback win over Australia. One of the standout performers of the 2025–26 season, Teneti has been nominated for the inaugural RugbyPass Women's SVNS Series MVP, a testament to her consistency and impact across the campaign.
