Laghlan McWhannell (Ngāti Kahungunu) has established himself as a dependable lock through strong performances for Waikato and the Blues. After progressing through New Zealand’s age-grade pathways, he has continued to develop into a consistent contributor at Super Rugby Pacific level.

An athletic second rower, McWhannell brings lineout accuracy, defensive work rate and physical presence to the Māori All Blacks environment. His ability to contribute across set piece and open play has made him a reliable performer within the tight five.
