BIOGRAPHY
Destined for a big future in sevens, Joey Taumateine wore the black jersey of the New Zealand Under 18 Sevens and New Zealand Men’s Development Sevens in 2023 and 2024 before graduating to the All Blacks Sevens.
In his first year out of Welsey College, Taumateine played for the Chiefs Under 20s and was named Counties Manukau Under 19 Player of the Year.
An incredibly physical player with deceptive pace, Taumateine is set to become a big star in the sevens game.
