Alena Saili has become a regular selection in the Black Ferns Sevens since debuting in Sydney in 2017. Saili is the first Southlander to win two Olympic Gold Medals, having been part of the gold-medal-winning squads at both Tokyo and Paris. A seasoned campaigner with over 35 tournaments to her name, Saili brings crucial experience and physicality in the midfield, roles she has also carried across into the Black Ferns 15s programme.

Capable of influencing matches on both sides of the ball, Saili brings strong carrying, defensive intensity and leadership to the squad. Her experience in high-pressure international environments and ability to consistently win collisions have made her a valuable presence within the programme.
