Seven changes have been made to the starting XV, with an attacking look to the backline with Cobus Reinach at halfback, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu at first five-eighths, Damian Willemse and Canan Moodie in midfield and Aphelele Fassi at fullback. Jasper Wiese is back from suspension at No8 while Siya Kolisi will start on the openside flank. Lood de Jager will play at lock with Eben Etzebeth not included.
Robertson said, "The way Rassie operates, he's got a squad he trusts and gives guys opportunities. There'll be variations in the gameplay. They'll have a little bit of innovation like they did last week.
"We expect a little bit of everything like one-off plays but the fundamentals will be the same."
Robertson said the key to the All Blacks backing up an improved performance with another was acknowledging the ability to reach a height, and then knowing what it takes to do it again.
Part of that was knowing why you do it, why you play and what is important.
He has been pleased with the direction the side is moving.
"The players have come in and performed. You have a four-year project, and you've got to win and learn. This year, we've had a lot of guys come in and perform well. That's a testament to the environment and how you set people up to take their step up.
"We're pleased with that, and creating some good depth and experience."
Robertson said Luke Jacobson and Caleb Clarke had rejoined the squad while George Bell had been called in as cover for Codie Taylor. He said wing Emoni Narawa was still sore after suffering a rib injury in Auckland.
Having another Test against the same opposition within a week highlighted the need for improvement in some areas and presented opportunities for further work in the second.
"It got back to a tight Test match in the end and what we can do from game management and set piece areas where a lot was good but the main focus is around the set piece and keeping creating opportunities."
The first two tries in Auckland, from set moves, had been developed by assistant coaches Jason Holland and Bryn Evans.
"They put work in and saw a fine seam of opportunity, and then you've got to execute it; that's the exciting part.
"There were two moments where people with deadly execution in a lineout through and a nice inside ball, or cross kick. You practise them and then you put them into play and it's always great when those come off."
Robertson said Clarke had two solid games with Auckland and was back in the squad after a couple of months out.
"It's important when someone's been away for a couple of months that they get two games in a row to give themselves confidence. He's come back in good condition."
Newcomer on the blindside flank, Simon Parker has taken his opportunity in two Test matches.
"He stepped straight up to the mark. Some players do it well, they're given an opportunity and take it. He's pretty unphased, and does his core role well. He does his job under pressure and that's what we're pleased about. He led the tackle count again and was very physical."
Asafo Aumua was unavailable to cover as a hooker, but Robertson noted that Samisoni Taukei'aho has experience and can adjust his game to improve for the weekend.
"He's played the majority of games for us this year, so he's good to go. George Bell's been around the environment, and Brodie's [McAlister] been with us for a long time. They're great scrummagers, good lineout throwers and know their way around the field."
Noah Hotham is available again at halfback, and while Cam Roigard was tracking well, he will not be ready for Saturday.
