That means the competition – both on the field and in Fantasy Rugby – is wide open, and every game has massive ramifications.

The All Blacks now prepare to host the Springboks in two September blockbusters, while Argentina head to Australia for two mouth-watering encounters. But this week, it was the Fantasy scores from Round 2 that stole the spotlight.

Back Three Brilliance

The top three Fantasy scorers of the round all came from the outside backs, showing the attacking edge and game-breaking ability of the wings and fullbacks.

Speedster Corey Toole (Australia) was the standout, claiming Player of the Round with a superb all-round display worth 68 points. He grabbed a try, carried for 48 metres, made five tackles and forced three turnovers.

In second place, Santiago Carreras (Argentina) tallied 53 points, driven by 49 metres carried and four successful conversions after taking over the kicking duties.

Completing the top three was young Wallabies wing Max Jorgensen, who continued his hot start with another strong outing worth 47 points.

Jorgensen Hits 100

Jorgensen’s consistency has also propelled him to the top of the overall Fantasy leaderboard after two rounds. He became the first player to surpass the 100-point mark, sitting on 103 points. Behind him are veteran first five-eighth James O’Connor (93 points) and Argentina pivot Tomas Albornoz (78).

Forwards Hold Their Own

While the backs lit up the scoreboard, the big men weren’t far behind. Eben Etzebeth leads the charge, sitting 4th overall with 75 points. Close on his heels are Ardie Savea (74) and Argentina skipper Julian Montoya (74), both proving indispensable in the pack.

Most-Selected Players

Ardie Savea is clearly the must-have player in Fantasy squads, with 72% of teams picking the All Blacks vice-captain. He’s followed by fullback Will Jordan (60%) and Wallabies centre Joseph Sua’ali’i (55%).

Captaincy Calls

Round 2 also saw some big swings in captaincy choices. Will Jordan led the way with 24% of managers handing him the armband, followed by Savea (16%) and Cheslin Kolbe (8%). But the biggest reward went to the bold 4% who captained Handre Pollard, doubling his 42-point haul into a match-winning 84 points.
